Trish Delano Patricia H. Delano named Acting Executive Director of Jackson-Feild Homes effective March 31, 2008.

Richmond, Va. - Jackson-Feild Homes announced today the appointment of Patricia H. Delano as Acting Executive Director, effective March 31, 2008.  Ms. Delano, who has been with the organization for nearly 20 years in various capacities, currently serves as Jackson-Feild’s Director of Programs.  She succeeds D. Rebecca China, who resigned to accept a similar position closer to her home in Smithfield.

Jackson-Feild Homes, founded more than 150 years ago as an Episcopalian orphanage, is a non-profit charitable organization that operates residential facilities in Richmond and Jarratt, Va. for at-risk adolescent girls.  The organization’s main campus in Jarratt has residential cottages accommodating approximately 50 girls, including a maternity and infants unit; the Richmond facility on The Boulevard, known as Eleventh House, houses 13 girls.  Both locations provide residential and therapeutic services with an emphasis on family reunification.  The Jarratt campus also operates a school and vocational programs, including CNA certification.

“We are delighted that Tricia Delano has accepted this position,” said Board of Trustees President Anne Gordon Greever.  “We have complete confidence that Tricia can step in and run this organization without missing a beat, while maintaining the high quality of services for which Jackson-Feild is known.  She has a first-rate, experienced senior management staff to assist her in every phase of the operation.”

Ms. Delano, who directed Eleventh House for more than 10 years, has served on the boards of directors of a variety of state-wide organizations in the field, including the Virginia Coalition of Private Provider Associations, the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities, and the Virginia Association of Children’s Homes.  She also served as a member of the Core Advisory Committee to revise the state standards for residential care and as the private provider representative in the Juvenile Female Offenders Network.  She earned a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice from Radford University.

Mr. James Chisman of Hampton, President of the Jackson-Feild Homes Foundation Board of Trustees, praised Ms. China’s contributions during her tenure as Executive Director: “Jackson-Feild is deeply grateful to Becky China for six years of steadfast service and dynamic leadership.  She came to Jackson-Feild at a challenging time in the organization’s history and, through hard work, innovation and perseverance, is leaving us in prime condition: financially stable, with optimum census, renowned for the high quality of our comprehensive services, poised to explore new ventures to carry out our core mission, and the legacy of a superb senior management team.  We will miss Becky and wish her the very best in her new organization.”
