Get Involved
Volunteers are an intricate part of the program at Jackson-Feild and they range in age from young adults to senior citizens. There are interesting volunteers opportunities for individuals, church youth and adult programs, scout troops, civic organizations, school sports teams and senior citizen organizations.
Adopt-A-Cottage
One easy and rewarding way to contribute to Jackson-Feild Homes is to adopt one of our cottages. Adoptees normally provide support, cards, birthday wishes, and good cheer at the Holidays.
Mentoring Program
Individuals can become education or general mentors to students at Eleventh House, JFH’s Richmond based program. Volunteers and students are matched based on interests they share in common. Academic mentors visit Eleventh House and assist students with homework, review for tests or help with special school projects. General mentors enjoy spending time with students during a trip to the mall, an outing to a museum or theatre, a special event in the community, a dinner outing or a walk in the park. A mentor is a friend to a Jackson-Feild student. For further information contact Sarah E. Johnston at 804-354-6929.
Intern Program
College students are selected to participate in the Intern Program based on their academic goals. Interns receive actual experience working with the Guided Growth program in the cottage environment. They experience interactive training with youth specialists, therapists, and support staff. For further information contact Chris Thompson at 434-634-3217.
