Eleventh House
Jackson-Feild Home's Eleventh House program is located in the city of Richmond, Virginia. It is a community transition program that provides services to adolescent females between the ages of 14 and 21.
The curriculum is competency based and individual assessments are completed using the Skills Training in Parenting and Pregnancy Prevention Assessment program and the Daniel Institute Independent living Assessments. A weekly curriculum of life skills classes are conducted by staff, as well as members of the community and or contracted individuals that include topics for independent living, parenting skills, health education, character education and other areas for personal development. Additionally, residents are able to put skills learned into practical use as they are expected to work, utilize public transportation, local community resources and manage their own money
Like the main campus the program is based on a behavior management system that operates like a modified token economy designed to promote positive behaviors and end negative patterns of behaviors that have proven to be problematic for the resident
The residents attend the local public high school, vocational or technical center or one of the local community or four-year colleges. There are accommodations made for residents with special needs that cannot be met in the public school system by contracting with private alternative schools for an additional fee.
Medical services are provided through local physicians and community providers. A local hospital is within walking distance from the facility. All staff who administer medications are trained and certified in the medication administration curriculum mandated by the Board of Nursing.
Follow-up support is available for the residents upon leaving the program to ensure a successful transition into the community. These services include time spent at the resident’s home as well as time spent at the Eleventh House budgeting, studying, managing medical appointments, organizing and prioritizing responsibilities as well as random drug testing and planning recreational time. Aftercare is also available for residents who transition from the main campus to communities in the Richmond and neighboring counties by the Eleventh House staff.
